Student Services

The Director of Student Services plans, coordinates and supervises all student services for the children in Madison County Public Schools.  Mrs. Aylor began in Madison County in 1993 as a special education teacher, teaching at both the middle and high school.  She then worked for eleven years in Orange County as a special education teacher, transition coordinator and assistant principal at Orange County High School.  She returned to Madison in July of 2006 as Supervisor of Special Services.  She resides in Madison with her husband and two children.

 Mrs. Aylor’s areas of responsibility are:

  • Director of planning, implementation, supervision, in-service and assessment of comprehensive special education programs
  • Coordinates the special education program for all students identified with a disability
  • Works with principals in supervising the special education programs and special education teachers
  • Establishes procedures and directs the screening, evaluation, placement and reevaluation of all students with a disability
  • Coordinates the utilization of available resources from community agencies with the school psychologist, school nurses and school counselors
  • Serves as the division contact person for the county’s CPMT (Community Policy Management Team)
  • Conducts eligibility meetings for students suspected of having a disability
  • Directs the ongoing IEP (Individualized Education Plan) process for students with disabilities
  • Directs programs for English Language Learners
  • Serves as the Alternate Title IX Officer
  • Directs and evaluates the work of the school nurses, school psychologist and other support personnel
  • Directs the school health program
  • Directs the school counseling program
  • Directs the Family Life Education Program
  • Coordinates the homebound program
  • Serves as the contact for home schooling notifications
  • Makes home visits and/or contacts with parents/guardians concerning students who are entering school for the first time and clarifies issues of residency or legal guardianship
  • Represents the school division on school related Juvenile and Domestic Relations Court matters
  • Represents the school division on the Multidisciplinary Team
  • Coordinates the school division crisis planning, crisis teams and threat assessment teams
